Under the direction of Artistic Director and Conductor Brian Dollinger, this season takes audiences on a musical journey across continents, traditions, and generations.
Our journey begins with MasterWorks I: Colors of Scandinavia, featuring pianist Thomas Yee performing Grieg’s beloved Piano Concerto in A minor alongside music by Rautavaara and Sibelius.
In January, MasterWorks II: Tchaikovsky Discovers America! celebrates the music of Tchaikovsky while shining a spotlight on the talented winners of the Kamuela Philharmonic’s annual Youth Concerto Competition.
Spring brings MasterWorks III: Glorious Expressions from Russia, an afternoon of passion and sweeping Romantic expression culminating in Rachmaninoff’s magnificent Piano Concerto No. 2 with guest pianist Lorraine Min.
Then we close the season in style with the return of KPO POPS!, our feel-good celebration of beloved music from Broadway, film, and beyond.

About Kahilu Theatre
The Kahilu Theatre is located in the green rolling hills of Waimea (aka Kamuela), at 2700 ft elevation in the South Kohala district of Hawai`i Island. The theatre was founded in 1980 by Richard Smart—heir to the Parker Ranch and accomplished Broadway actor—and has a 484-seat concert hall, a Black Box performance venue, as well as two gallery spaces.
Kahilu Theatre presents dynamic performers from all over the world and around the state to Hawai’i Island residents and visitors, and it is home to the Kamuela Philharmonic Orchestra. For more information visit the Kahilu Theatre website.
