About Jim
Jim was born in Texas, attended high school in Oklahoma, went to college at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, obtaining a BS in Engineering and Management and an MBA in International Management.
Jim has lived in 45 places on three continents and seven countries. He has a working knowledge of German, Spanish, French, Italian, and a smattering of Russian.
From college Jim worked his way up from analyst to CFO and CEO of companies, mostly in the energy industry. He was involved in many legal negotiations and managed major projects and company operations.
His parents were avid cultural folks who attended symphonies, operas, and plays and took him with them on a regular basis. As an undergraduate at MIT, Jim started attending the Boston Symphony Orchestra and its annual Pops series as well as attending Broadway plays and local plays in Boston. He has attended music events in Europe and the United States.
Jim has no musical talents although he has taken violin and piano lessons over the years.
Currently, Jim is a Kona coffee farmer who lives in Captain Cook.
