Dennis Yates is a full time Real Estate consultant with Keller Williams and Chief Operating Officer for Team “Ching and Yates”.   In 2020, he served as the President for the Hawaii Island Board of Realtors®  and a Director for the statewide Hawaii Association of Realtors®.    He has also served as President for the Chamber Orchestra of Kona for over seven years, helping grow the group from approximately 12 members to over 50 members and going from public performances at Hale Halawai funded by donations to having paid concerts at the Sheraton at Keauhou Bay, resulting in huge audiences and more financial backing for the Orchestra.

He served in the United States Navy from 1984 to 1987 when he was medically discharged.   Dennis worked for the IRS for the next 20 years as a Revenue Officer.  His calm demeanor and excellent management skills were inconsistent with that occupation.  He retired from the IRS in 2008 and relocated to Hawaii Island to be with his Elementary School crush and High School sweetheart Julie Ching Yates (who, by the way, is a musician as well).

Dennis grew up in the small town of McLoud, Oklahoma where he met Julie when they were 10 years old.   After some “practice marriages”, Dennis and Julie reunited in 2008 and wed in 2016.

Even though Dennis was kicked out of middle school choir class for being atonal, Dennis has a huge appreciation and love for music.

He is a natural born leader with a knack for diplomacy, which makes him a huge asset for KPO.
